Building Dreams Together

When a child is fighting for life, we share a dream — a dream that the fragile, sick or critically injured child will survive.

Building Dreams Together: The MultiCare Campaign for Healthy Children is a $30 million community campaign to improve the care we provide to babies born prematurely, children in critical condition, and children with special needs. This campaign marks the first time in our community’s history that we have focused on a united effort, across three hospitals, to ensure that our children will receive the highest quality of care, close to home and close to their families.

Building Dreams Together covers three critical needs for children.

NICU

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Tacoma General Hospital for premature babies

PICU and Med/Surg

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Medical/Surgical Unit at MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital for children who are critically ill or injured

CTU

The Children's Therapy Unit at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital for children with special needs

To date, more than $25 million has been raised!! We need your help to reach our $30 million goal.

Let's Build Dreams Together.

Building Dreams Together is a $30 million community campaign to improve the care we provide to babies born prematurely, children in critical condition, and children with special needs.  This campaign marks the first time in our community’s history that we have focused on a united effort, across three hospitals, to ensure that our children will receive the highest quality of care, close to home and close to their families.

Specifically, the Building Dreams Together campaign will raise:

$20 million of the $192 million capital support needed for a new NICU at Tacoma General Hospital and a new PICU and Med/Surg Unit at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital

$10 million for an endowment supporting the CTU at Good Samaritan Hospital

Thousands of families from Pierce County and South King County, where nearly 200,000 children reside, turn to the specialty services of the Mary Bridge PICU and Med/Surg, Tacoma General NICU and Good Samaritan CTU every year. The population of children in our region is expected to grow between 6 to 7 percent over the next five years.

As MultiCare stands poised to make another leap forward in the quality of care for our most vulnerable children, we once again seek the community’s support to provide the extra margin of excellence that we want for all of our children. Please consider supporting Building Dreams Together by making a gift that is meaningful to you.

Our community and our children need you. When a tiny, one-pound infant is fighting for life, when a two-year-old needs lifesaving heart surgery, or when a child must learn to live with muscular dystrophy, we breathe easier knowing that they will receive the best care possible at the NICU, PICU and Med/Surg, and CTU. This campaign is about safeguarding our community’s trust in the care available for our children at moments when their health and development hang in the balance.

MultiCare is a local, not-for-profit health care organization. This campaign will help build the facilities, buy the equipment and make the investments necessary to care for fragile babies and vulnerable children right here in our community. With your help, we can build this dream together.
